Nate's debut CD, 500 miles came out in the spring ot 1998. It was recorded and produced by him, and is basically a solo journey (except for "Dinosaur," in which he is joined by future bandmate Doris Muramatsu, then of The Garden Verge).

The debut release from Big Girl Records, CAN YOU READ THIS, BOSTON? features Nate's song "Beautiful Boy." The compilation won a Boston Music Award for "Outstanding Folk/Acoustic Album." $2.50 from the sale of each CD goes to benefit the Boston Adult Literacy Fund (BALF).
